Attorney
Jamaal was born and raised in Tennessee. He went to college at Tennessee State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration in Economics & Finance. He later studied law at the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law, graduating with a Juris Doctor. Jamaal is a licensed attorney in Tennessee. After law school, Jamaal opened his own law practice in Nashville and soon joined the firm of Stewart Johnson Conner & Mason LLP, focusing on employment law, Title VII, union relations and labor law, EEOC law, and various litigation matters. He then moved to corporate America as a consultant and senior staff counsel at Asurion, where he advised on human resources and employment issues and later managed mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity transactions, corporate finance, corporate governance, and compliance matters.
